| Welcome to Arrowhead Elementary. Students in grades K – 5 need a pocket folder labeled “SPEECH”. Preschoolers will be notified if a folder is needed. |

Homework:
|
|
| Homework for the week is usually given on the first speech class for the week. Please help your child with his/her homework by listening to him/her say words and/or sentences and sign your initials that it has been completed. Please keep all homework in the speech folder because weeks with a holiday will be review weeks. I will let you know when you can take the old papers out. Thank you for your cooperation. |

General Information:

| Students who have folders need to bring their speech folder to speech class each day they are scheduled with homework completed. A communication chart will be in each folder with spaces that indicate homework completion or not, whether the student did a good job or not, homework assignments, and a space for the parent or I to write notes. Students in grades K – 5 will also have a sticker chart and earn chart stickers for completion of homework and good behavior. After five stickers are earned a big sticker is given. When 10 stickers are earned the student can pick a prize out of my prize box. Preschoolers can earn a big sticker each speech day for doing his/her best and good behavior. | I have been a speech pathologist in Virginia Beach Public Schools since 1976. My B.S. degree is from Radford College and my M.S. degree is from Old Dominion University. I currently hold a certificate of competency from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association (ASHA). |
